Briann January has signed a new multi-year deal that will keep her with the Indiana Fever for the foreseeable future, the team announced.
Here is part of the release:
The Indiana Fever have re-signed point guard Briann January to a multi-year contract, it has been announced by President and General Manager Kelly Krauskopf. Per team policy, terms of the contract are not announced.
Currently in her seventh WNBA season, all with the Fever, January has helped Indiana to playoff appearances in each of six seasons including two trips to the WNBA Finals and a 2012 WNBA championship. Regarded as a lock-down defender, she has earned WNBA All-Defensive Team accolades in three straight seasons from 2012-14, and was selected as a WNBA All-Star in 2014.
January has been a stalwart for the Fever, as she has been such a steady hand at the point guard position, while also helping guide Indiana to their first and only WNBA Championship in 2012.
