WNBA suspends Isiah Thomas' ownership application

The application for Isiah Thomas to have partial ownership of the New York Liberty has been suspended, per multiple reports. The Liberty will visit this process in the future.

The WNBA has suspended the ownership application of Isiah Thomas for the New York Liberty, per multiple reports. Thomas, who is the President of the New York Liberty, filed for partial ownership of the team on May 14.

Here is the statement from the WNBA:

"After further discussion and with the season underway, the WNBA and the New York Liberty have agreed to suspend consideration of Isiah Thomas’ application for an ownership interest in the Liberty until further notice.  The process will resume at a future time as determined by the Liberty."

Thomas' affiliation with the WNBA has come under much scrutiny, because of his sexual harassment case while he was in the front office of the New York Knicks, that led to a judge awarding $11.6 million to Anucha Browne Sanders in 2007.
