Kansas interviewed Stephen F. Austin's Brandon Schneider yesterday, according to a report by KUsports.com. After writing about that, I also wrote in the piece that multiple sources had told Swish Appeal, that the other two finalists were Joe Foley (Arkansas Little-Rock) and Jody Adams (Wichita State).
In a new report from this morning, Tom Keegan of KUsports.com confirms what we had been hearing, and that, indeed, those two are in the final mix. Here's some from the report:
University of Arkansas Little-Rock women’s basketball coach Joe Foley interviewed Wednesday for the Kansas University vacancy created by the firing of Bonnie Henrickson.
A 1979 graduate of Central Arkansas University, Foley has coached the Trojans to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. A No. 11 seed in this year’s tourney, UALR upset Texas A&M in the opening round and lost to No. 3 seed Arizona State by three points in the second round. In 2010, Foley took the school to its first appearance in the Div. I NCAA Tournament as a No. 11 seed that upset No. 6 seed Georgia before losing to Sherri Coale’s Oklahoma Sooners in the second round.
Foley, Stephen F. Austin’s Brandon Schneider and Wichita State’s Jody Adams are among the finalists. Adams will interview today.
Look for an announcement in the coming days, we've been told that it could happen as early as the weekend.
