Illinois State had a tough season this year, as they suffered their worst season in school history. The Redbirds went 2-28 overall and finished with a 2-14 record in the Missouri Valley Conference. And their off-season has gotten off to a tough start as six players have decided to transfer.

Here's a quote from head coach Barb Smith in The Pantagraph:

"We thank all of our players for what they have done for us during their time here at Illinois State," Smith said in a release. "We wish them the very best in the future."

Out of those six players, two seemed to have played critical roles in starters Octavia Crump and Lindsay Smith. Crump was the team's top rebounder and second-leading scorer: 10.6 points and 5.7 rebounds, respectfully. Smith was third on the team in scoring, averaging 8.6 points.
