NCAA Women's Tournament Bracket: Savannah State Lady Tigers

When do they play in the first round? The Lady Tigers play South Carolina on Friday at 5 p.m. ET.

Where? Savannah, Georgia, known for its squares.

When? March 14th, in Norfolk, Virginia.

Why? They won the Mid-Eastern Athletic conference tournament.

How? Jasmine Norman scored 20 off the bench, and Savannah State turned on the afterburners on would-be Cinderella Maryland-Eastern Shore, 65-47. Tiyonda Davis added a double-double for the Lady Tigers, with 10 points and 16 rebounds.

Surprise? Predicted to finish third in the conference, they finished second, one game behind Hampton.

Bad losses: And then they turned around and lost at home to Bethune-Cookman.
