On Tuesday, the San Antonio Stars re-signed Jia Perkins, an 12-year veteran to a multi-year contract. In 2014, Perkins played 23 games, 21 of them off the bench for San Antonio, where she averaged 12.5 points a game. In addition, she also made 41.1% of her three point shots (39-95).
Throughout her WNBA career, Perkins played for the Charlotte Sting (2004-2005); Chicago Sky (2005-2010); and has been with the Stars since 2010.
With Perkins officially back in San Antonio, that helps solidify what could be the WNBA's best three point shooting team in 2015, even with former franchise star Becky Hammon retiring last season. San Antonio that Danielle Adams, who is a restricted free agent and 2014 All-Rookie Team member Kayla McBride are also strong shooters from the perimeter.
Even with this announcement, there are other re-signings yet to be made, most notably the ones for the aforementioned Adams and point guard Danielle Robinson. That said, I think it's safe to say that both player will return to form a solid unit with Perkins and McBride.
