New York superstar Ephiphanny Prince had surgery today to repair a torn ACL and two right lateral meniscus tears,  the team just announced. She suffered the injury while playing overseas for her Russian team, Dynamo Kursk.

Here is part of the release:

"I want to thank my teammates and the staff at the New York Liberty and at Dynamo Kursk for their support, and all the friends who have reached out to offer their well-wishes," said Prince. "Injury is always difficult and the last few weeks have not been easy -- I miss basketball and being on the floor competing, but I am committed to doing everything I can to get healthy as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will also be working to finish my degree at Rutgers and look forward to having the chance to cheer the team on in person for the first time in many years."

Prince averaged 15 points per game this season for the Liberty. Their is no timetable for her recovery, but usually it can take anywhere from 6-9 months.
