WNBA legend and current head coach of the Loyola Ramblers, Sheryl Swoopes, is eligible for the Naismith Hall of Fame, it was announced today. Swoopes is on the list of some very prominent names in the sport of basketball: Shaquille O`Neal, Yao Ming, Allen Iverson as well as Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo.
She's arguably the greatest player to ever play the game, and her accomplishments are second to none: six-time All-Star, four-time WNBA Champion, 3-time MVP and Defensive Player of the Year -- and won a National Championship in 1993 at Texas Tech.
Swoopes was such a phenomenal athlete, who had a first step that was unrivaled, and a unbelievable pull up jumpshot that seemed to be automatic. Her being nominated is well deserved for such champion.
