Indiana Fever guard Briann January has undergone surgery to repair a Torn Meniscus, the team announced this morning. The injury occurred in Game 5 of the WNBA Finals.
January was arguably the the Fever's most dominant player, and had a breakout performance throughout the course of the 2015 WNBA Finals, as she was a tour de force. Her playmaking, tenacious defense and leadership almost garnered Indiana their second WNBA Championship.
She averaged 15.4 points per game during the Fever's series against the Minnesota Lynx. Earlier this year, January signed a multi-year contract extension which will keep her with Indiana for years to come.
