Sky vs. Dream, Game 1 video: Courtney Vandersloot's clutch go-ahead shot to lead Chicago to victory

Chicago Sky point guard Courtney Vandersloot hit a go-ahead shot with 20.9 seconds left against the Atlanta Dream in Game 1 of the first round of the WNBA Playoffs (via WNBA).

After missing half the season due to injury, Chicago Sky point guard Courtney Vandersloot made her presence felt in an 80-77 win over the Atlanta Dream in Game 1 of the first round of the 2014 WNBA Playoffs.

Kris Willis of SB Nation's Peachtree Hoops described the big sequence in his recap.

A key moment came with less than a minute remaining when Atlanta's Erika de Souza missed a put back attempt and after a scramble the ball went out of bounds. Officials went to the replay but were unable to determine whose possession it was leading to a jump ball. Sylvia Fowles won the tip and gave the Sky the ball with 42 seconds remaining.

Courtney Vandersloot put the Sky up for good with a pull up jumper with just 20.9 remaining. After a timeout, the Dream squandered their final chance with a busted play that resulted in a long desperation three-point attempt by McCoughtry.

It was an unfortunate turn of events for the Dream, who now have to win a game in Chicago on Sunday in order to keep their Finals hopes alive for 2014.
