2014 WNBA All-Star Game: Who do we select as the reserves?

WNBA All-Star Reserves will be named later tonight. But in the meantime, we show you who we would select for the game.

Danny Wild-USA TODAY Sports

The reserves of the 2014 WNBA All-Star Game will be released on Tuesday. But we here at Swish Appeal decided to take a look at who we as a community thought were deserving of the honor before the news comes out.

Nate, Albert and I decided to select who we would pick as reserves to the All-Star Game this Saturday, where they will get a chance to showcase their skills at the mid season break. Rosters are expected to be at 11 players per team, so we selected six reserves per conference: two guards, three frontcourt players, and one player regardless of position.

Here are our picks, and they are listed below:

Eastern Conference

Albert Lee Pat Friday Nate Parham
Guard Katie Douglas, CT Tiffany Hayes, ATL Katie Douglas, CT
Guard Shavonte Zellous, IND Shavonte Zellous, IND Epiphanny Prince, CHI
Frontcourt Erika de Souza, ATL Erika de Souza, ATL Erika de Souza, ATL
Frontcourt Erlana Larkins, IND Erlana Larkins, IND Tina Charles, NY
Frontcourt Chiney Ogwumike, CT Chiney Ogwumike, CT Chiney Ogwumike, CT
Extra Player Emma Meesseman, DC Katie Douglas, CT Tiffany Hayes, ATL
IR* Tiffany Hayes, ATL Jessica Breland, CHI Erlana Larkins, IND

*Albert selected Hayes, Nate selected Erlana Larkins, and I selected Jessica Breland as a potential injury replacement for Elena Delle Donne. Delle Donne was voted as a starter to the All-Star Game, but has been sidelined indefinitely due to Lyme Disease complications. Therefore, she may not be able to play in the game.

Western Conference

Albert Lee Pat Friday Nate Parham
Guard Lindsay Whalen, MIN Lindsay Whalen, MIN Lindsay Whalen, MIN
Guard Danielle Robinson, SA Penny Taylor, PHX Danielle Robinson, SA
Frontcourt Courtney Paris, TUL Camille Little, SEA Courtney Paris, TUL
Frontcourt Candice Dupree, PHX Candice Dupree, PHX Candice Dupree, PHX
Frontcourt Nneka Ogwumike, LA Nneka Ogwumike, LA Nneka Ogwumike, LA
Extra Player Seimone Augustus, MIN Danielle Robinson, SA Seimone Augustus, MIN
IR** Crystal Langhorne, SEA Glory Johnson, TUL

**Albert and Nate selected Augustus as a reserve, but then named injury replacements for her. Albert selected Crystal Langhorne, while Nate selected Glory Johnson. Augustus has been sidelined recently due to a knee injury and may not play in the game. I would have put Augustus in the lineup, but ultimately didn't in light of the injury.

Nate also added a potential 12th player to each lineup after his injury replacements. This is if the WNBA ultimately goes with 12 players on each All-Star team. If this happens, he selected Emma Meesseman to take the 12th spot for the East, while Crystal Langhorne would take that spot for the West.
