Minnesota Lynx visit the White House

On Thursday, June 12, 2014, the Minnesota Lynx visited the White House in Washington, D.C. after winning the 2013 WNBA championship.

Talk about two major basketball team visits in one week.

On Monday, the UConn men's and women's basketball teams visited the White House on Monday after winning national championships for the 2013-14 college basketball season. And earlier today, the Minnesota Lynx visited 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for winning the 2013 WNBA championship. You can see President Barack Obama's congratulatory remarks in the video in embedded above.

The President made a couple good jokes. First he talked about a "Maya Moore Wing" at the White House given that she has visited the White House numerous times for winning championships both in college and at the professional level. President Obama also made a remark about wanting to seeing his hometown Chicago Sky win a WNBA championship.

Moore gave a quick speech after the President's remarks and called it a "birthday treat." Moore celebrated her 25th birthday on Wednesday.
