Jeanette Pohlen, who is entering her fourth WNBA season, sustained an injury last Saturday in practice, according to a press release issued by the team. That injury was determined to be a left Achilles tendon, and it will sideline her for the 2014 season.
This has got to be tough news not only for the Fever, but also for Pohlen personally. She tore her ACL during the 2012 WNBA Finals, when Indiana won the league championship. Even though she did play 13 games in 2013, this year was basically supposed to be the year when she had the chance to play fully healthy.
Unfortunately, Pohlen will have to wait another year before having the chance to play an entire season at 100%.
