Sun vs. Liberty Preview: Chiney Ogwumike and Alyssa Thomas play in their first professional game

The Connecticut Sun and New York Liberty will play their first preseason game today at 1 p.m. ET, so here's what you'll need to know.

On Sunday, May 4, we will see two Eastern Conference teams face off in a preseason match, so here are the tidbits around the game.

When and where? Mohegan Sun Casino at 1 p.m. ET.

Can I watch it on television or online? Unfortunately, no. You'll have to refresh box scores if they work, or check Twitter accounts for the Sun @ConnecticutSun or the Liberty @NYLiberty.

Who is missing? For the Sun, it is likely that Renee Montgomery, Kelsey Bone, and Yelena Leuchanka will be out due to the fact that neither have reported to the team as of last Friday, May 2, per the Hartford Courant. For the Liberty, Tina Charles will not be at the game.

Big Storylines? With Charles not playing, the big storyline of this game will not center around the 2012 WNBA Most Valuable Player returning to her old stomping grounds. Instead, the attention will focus on rookies Chiney Ogwumike and Alyssa Thomas, who were the first and fourth picks in the 2014 WNBA Draft respectively. How well will they play in their first professional basketball game? Sure, it may be the preseason, but at the same time, this is the first time that they are getting a chance to see how their skills fit in at the highest level.

Who wins? While picking winners and losers for preseason games should be taken with a grain of salt to some extent, I'm going to guess that Connecticut will win, just on a hunch.
