The Washington Mystics have announced their final roster after the conclusion of their training camp after waiving A'dia Mathies, Nadirah McKenith, and Kayla Thornton. McKenith was a member of the 2013 Mystics team, and Mathies played for the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2013 season. Quanitra Hollingsworth was put on the suspended list for failure to attend training camp.
The roster will have 12 players, seven of whom are rookies or sophomores. Here they are:
Guards
Kalana Greene, Bria Hartley, Tayler Hill, Ivory Lattta, Kara Lawson, Tierra Ruffin-Pratt
Forwards
Monique Currie, Tianna Hawkins, Jelena Milovanovic
Centers
Stefanie Dolson, Emma Meesseman, Kia Vaughn
According to John Altavilla of the Hartford Courant, the starting lineup will be Lawson and Latta at the guard positions, Currie and Meesseman at the forward positions, and Vaughn at center. This doesn't come as much of a surprise given that last year's starting unit was made up of mostly veterans, while the bench unit was made up of rookies. This year, it appears that we will see more of the same and this also keeps the younger players playing alongside each other.
