Dance Card: St. Joseph's, Atlantic 10 at-large

There were no guarantees, but everything worked out fine.

Who? The Hawks of St. Joseph's.

What? Hawks won out over Grenadiers. And as we all know, the Hawk will never die.

Where? Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which has unusually shaped pretzels.

When? March 23rd, in Storrs, Connecticut.

Why? I suspect it's the RPI.

How? They were an at-large selection.

Surprise? Predicted to finish second in the conference, they finished fifth.

RPI: 22

SOS: 38

Record: 22-9 (10-6 A-10)

Good wins: At Villanova.

Bad losses: Saint Louis.

Who's driving this thing? Cindy Griffin, since 2001, a Dancer as both a coach and a player.

Extra, Extra! Philly.com.

Senior guard Erin Shields leads the Hawks with 14.9 points per game; her backcourt running mate, junior Natasha Cloud, runs the show with 7.8 assists and a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game to go with 11.5 points. Shields isn't afraid to let it fly from outside, with 222 attempted threes on the season (exactly half the team's total). I'd be worried about their rebounding margin, though.
