In a stunning surprise that will catch many off-guard, the four No.1 seeds are as follows: UConn, Notre Dame, Tennessee and South Carolina. Many assumed that the fourth No. 1 seed would go to either Louisville or Stanford.

Also, the Stanford Cardinal will be a No. 2 seed while Louisville received a No. 3 seed. Another aspect of the seeding process, and something that has been up for debate: Where will the committee decide to place UConn?

The heavily favored UConn Huskies will be traveling to the Lincoln side of the bracket while the Lady Vols will be sent to Louisville as a #2 seed. ESPN’s Charlie Creme spoke in recent days of this possibility with UConn going to Nebraska.

A Connecticut athletics release described the entirety of their path to the Sweet 16.

The Huskies will play their opening round game vs. No. 16 seed and Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament Champion Prairie View A&M University (14-17) at Gampel Pavilion (10,167) in Storrs, Conn., on Sunday, March 23 at 8 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN.

No. 8 seed Georgia (20-11) will square-off against No. 9 seed Saint Joseph's (22-9) in Sunday's other first-round game at Gampel beginning at 5:30 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN.
