The San Antonio Stars announced this week that they will play their 2015 home games at the Freeman Coliseum, due to renovations scheduled at the AT&T Center during the summer. The Freeman Coliseum houses 9,000 people for basketball games.
This is one of the frustrating things about being a WNBA fan, which is that their fans have to make the sacrifice when renovations have to be done. But unlike the situation with the New York Liberty in 2004 during the Radio City Music Hall experiment, or the 2011-2013 years playing in Newark, New Jersey, there is a silver lining for Stars fans. The Freeman Center is located right next to the AT&T Center, so at least fans won't have to commute to different parts of town.
