Cal's Gennifer Brandon makes an impact on the boards in her return to action

California Golden Bears forward Gennifer Brandon returned to action in Cal's 101-98 overtime win over Oregon on Sunday.

Viet Nguyen of BearInsider.com published coach Lindsay Gottlieb's thoughts on where she's at after an extended absence.

"...my expectations are for her to come out, contribute, play hard, enjoy doing it and be with her teammates, and I know what she can do on the court.  Today, obviously, she's got to shake off some of the rust, but she did a great job on the boards, she was active, she made some big free throws for us so we'll continue to move forward and progress with her and getting her back into game rhythm."

As Nick Kranz of California Golden Blogs has already written, it might be reductive to suggest that Brandon was responsible for the rebounding margin on Sunday but she made exactly the type of impact that makes her worth keeping an eye on as a 2014 WNBA Draft prospect.
