On July 30, 2002, the Sparks center dunked in the first half of a game against the Miami Sol.
In addition, Leslie would be the first WNBA player to dunk in an All-Star game, doing so in 2005.
The second player to dunk in a game was another Sparks player who is the current franchise cornerstone, Candace Parker, who did so on June 22, 2008 against the Indiana Fever. The second player to dunk in an All-Star game was Houston Comets center Michelle Snow in 2006.

Today is Day 25 of Sparks Watch. This comes exactly two weeks after our initial announcement that the Golden State Warriors wanted to acquire the Sparks with the intention of moving the team to the San Francisco Bay Area. As you may have recalled, they wanted to take care of this within two to three weeks, or they will walk away from the opportunity. We are now two weeks past the announcement, so that leaves us one more week for the deal to be finalized.
If and when the Warriors walk away from an opportunity to buy the team, the WNBA has two options. First, the league could finalize a purchase with an owner who will keep them in LA, and last Friday, we learned that there may be such a group. Or, it could decide to fold the Sparks at that time.
I don't want to be fear mongering, but the countdown clock is ticking louder with each passing day and there is no resolution in sight as of now. And until we hear about a reprieve, we will assume that this deadline is strict, and will be enforced. So, by February 2, 2014, or Super Bowl Sunday, we hope there is some change in the status of the team. If there is no change in this status publicly by then, or if we don't hear differently from sources around the Warriors and/or the WNBA, we will assume that Joe Lacob and Golden State Warriors will have walked away from buying the Sparks on Day 33, or Monday, February 3, 2014.
Hopefully there is an end to Sparks Watch later this week. Really, we want a resolution, but we don't know when we'll see one. In the meantime, are there any other positive Sparks moments that you would like to talk about? Do so in the comments below.
