Queenie already wrote up her thoughts on the New York Liberty's debacle last night - and called for them to just shut this season down - so I'll move on after just putting this tweet here:
Holding @nyliberty to 25% FG is a @minnesotalynx franchise-record, topping the 25.9% @SASilverStars shot vs. #loslynx on 6/3/04. #wnba

No need to dwell on that any further though. Onto other links from around the WNBA.
- Terrence Thomas of the San Antonio Express-News writes that with the San Antonio Silver Stars' loss to the Seattle Storm last night it, "...now appears certain is that for the first time since 2006, the Silver Stars won't be in the WNBA playoffs." Tina Thompson was the star of the game with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Read more >>>
Latest simulation shows Storm finishing 3rd 34.6% of the time, 4th 62.4% of the time and out of playoffs remaining 3.0%.

- The Los Angeles Wave posted a photo gallery of the Los Angeles Sparks' 91-78 win over the Connecticut Sun last night in which All-Star MVP candidate Candace Parker had 12 points in the first quarter. Sun guard Iziane Castro Marques scored a season-high 19 points on an efficient 6-for-11 shooting. Read more >>>
- Janis Kacens of LoveWomensBasketball posted the Indiana Fever release about them signing Jasmine Hassell after releasing Sasha Goodlett on Monday. Goodlett was the 11th pick in the 2012 WNBA Draft and with her being released, five of those selected in the first round of that draft are no longer on a roster and two other foreign picks still have yet to play a game in the league. - Tim McDonnell of the CAA Women's Hoops blog posted an interview with the Elena Delle Donne from her her visit to D.C. to play the Washington Mystics. There were a lot of questions about how the transition from the CAA to the WNBA has been and Delle Donne made a good point at the end: "In the CAA, I was able to face double and triple teams and face new defenses every single night. That definitely helped challenge me." Read more >>>
- Tiffany Gibson of the Oklahoman implored Oklahoma basketball fans to not "let a few seasons of losses deter you from showing your Shock pride." Things are looking up for the Shock as they have already matched a franchise-high in wins with six games remaining and two against the Seattle Storm, who they've already beaten this season. - David Hinckley of the New York Daily News reviewed last night's broadcast of "Nine for IX" focusing on the message that "yes, looks and personalities play a huge role in how well women are rewarded for their achievements" and that we're not yet to a point where that will cease being true. - The Washington Mystics weren't in D.C. for ttoday's events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington as they're on the road to (fittingly?) face the Atlanta Dream tonight, but their players were more active than any team in honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. and remembering the march.
50 years ago he gave a speech that changed the thinking of millions. Influence is powerful. Whose words are you... http://t.co/zOogiws44K

- Although the Mystics weren't able to be in the nation's capital, Chicago Sky forward Swin Cash posted a photo of her Cash4Kids organization in front of the MLK monument.

- However, Cash's other tweet about the inequalities that still plague the country today reminded me of the article Dave Zirin of The Nation wrote after attending Saturday's rather sterilized March on Washington event in D.C. on Saturday: "Today, those "triplets of evil" King warned us about 1967 still strangle this country. If we are not talking about the New Jim Crow, Wall Street and militarism, then what are we doing?" Read more >>>
Albert has posted some of the Mystics' additional tweets in today's open thread. Obviously there are other links out there today so feel free to place those in the comments or create a fanshot. If you have a longer commentary, feel free to writeup a fanpost to share with the community.
