The Liberty has been very strong at home with a 4-1 record, but is only 1-4 on the road. That said, the Libs' one win was over the Chicago Sky. As for the Sparks, they come off Sunday's second beatdown of the Minnesota Lynx and look to take care of business again this afternoon, before concluding their homestand against the San Antonio Silver Stars this Saturday. I give the Sparks the advantage on this one.
The Random SB Nation Song of the Day
It's the United States' birthday today because the Declaration of Independence was signed on this day 237 years ago , (unless you're British, when American independence was officially recognized by the Treaty of Paris on September 3, 1783). Either way, here's a video of Marvin Gaye singing the National Anthem during the 1983 NBA All Star Game. I generally hate it when people try to improvise the National Anthem and botch it up badly, but Gaye made this a song in and of itself. A piece by Pete Croatto on Grantland gives a great backstory on it.
So that's all I have. Enjoy the 4th of July holiday everyone!
