1. Indiana Fever (6-8) at Washington Mystics (8-8), 4:00 PM ET
If you're in the DC area, you must watch this game online by logging on to Monumental Network.
The Fever won a close game against the Mystics at home last Friday, and look to win again today. DC is 5-2 at home, and looks to win again to get past .500. Here's another interesting thing about the Mystics too while we're at it. DC is 2-4 against Eastern Teams, and 6 out of their 8 wins have therefore come from Western teams, one of them coming against the Lynx.
It's early, I know, but DC needs to beat Eastern Conference teams at a good clip if they expect to make the Eastern Conference Finals, since it's now a rather safe bet that they'll be playing in late September this year. I find it almost surreal that I'm even saying this. Mystics and Eastern Conference Finals in the same sentence, but it is a possibility for sure.
2. Atlanta Dream (10-4) at Tulsa Shock (5-13), 4:30 PM ET
The Shock has won two in a row and was beaten soundly back in late May when they traveled to ATL to play the Dream. Since they've played better as of late, it is possible to see that they could win it again. Considering that the Dream has had a poor road trip thus far, this is the easiest game on the schedule, and they're favored to win on paper, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them mentally in Atlanta already if things aren't looking too good in the middle of this one.
3. Minnesota Lynx (12-3) at Phoenix Mercury (9-7), 6:00 PM ET
The Lynx have already won the season series, by winning three out of the five total games they'll have in this series. But the Mercury should win at least one out of these next two against the Lynx if they want to feel confident about having a puncher's chance in any future playoff series against them.
Vine Videos of NBA Players having "No Days Off"
A couple weeks ago, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry made a rather funny Vine video of him "always working on [his] game" where he's pump faking all around the house and around unsuspecting people.
And a few days ago, this one from Denver Nuggets center JaVale McGee came out and he's doing such JaVale McGee things like dribbling excessively down the court.
I know these videos are coming in "late" in the 24 hour news cycle and they're in the history books when it comes to Social Media, but I don't keep track of what NBA players are doing in their personal time, and when I found about the McGee Vine a couple days ago, let's just say I'm happy he's not in DC now because of the constant "Shaqtin a Fool" moments. So if you haven't seen them before, here they are!
So there you have it, tonight's games! Enjoy the rest of your weekends!
