The New York Liberty announced today that they have signed free agent center Avery Warley after releasing veteran forward Cheryl Ford.
As we've noted before around here, Warley was a very strong rebounder in her rookie season with the Phoenix Mercury in 2012 and there's little question that the boards would be her immediate impact, if any at all - while the Liberty are not a poor offensive rebounding team, they're working with a slim differential relative to opponents.
The question though is whether the Liberty have any further moves coming: signing Warley leaves open the possibility of adding a bigger salary player down the line should coach/GM Bill Laimbeer be interested in making a trade, a possibility that some have mentioned after Essence Carson was ruled out for the season due to injury.
