During the course of her career as an Olympian and WNBA player, women's basketball legend Jennifer Azzi has had the opportunity to make connections with a number of NBA players.
One group of players she happened to connect with was the San Antonio Spurs' Big Three, who were in town this past weekend to face the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the 2013 NBA Playoffs.
Azzi spent her final WNBA season in 2003 playing for the San Antonio Silver Stars, the same year that current Spurs stars Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili (then a rookie) and Tony Parker won the first of three NBA titles together. So needing a place to practice on Saturday before Game Four, Azzi hosted the Spurs for a practice at the University of San Francisco's War Memorial Gym where she just finished her third season as head coach of the women's basketball team.
I'll try to leave my Warriors bias out of this, but will note that the Spurs lost Game Four in overtime on Mother's Day after practicing at USF.
