Dance Card: Fresno State, Mountain West

These Bulldogs have some bite.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Who? The Bulldogs of Fresno State.

What? Oh, this is just adorable. And this is cool too.

Where? Fresno, California, home of the first modern landfill.

When? March 16th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Why? They won the Mountain West conference tournament.

How? Ki-Ki Moore had 22 points and 11 rebounds, Alex Sheedy had 21 points, and Fresno State withstood a San Diego State second-half run to claim a 76-70 win.

Surprise? Predicted to finish second in the conference, they ended up in second, two games behind San Diego State.

RPI: 93

SOS 270

Record: 24-8 (13-3 Mountain West)

Good wins: Washington State?

Bad losses: At Santa Clara.

Who's running this show? Raegan Pebley, since 2012. The former Raegan Scott played briefly for the Utah Starzz.

Extra, Extra! The Fresno Bee.

Do-everything junior guard Ki-Ki Moore leads the way for the Bulldogs with 17.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and just over 3 steals per game- and she's only six assists behind Taylor Thompson for the team lead in assists at just over 4 per game. And she's the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year. Aussie senior Rosie Moult loves to set up for deep threes, and her height makes her a matchup issue for opposing perimeter players. Rebounding is an issue for them; they're on the minus side of the margin.

They have four Aussies. I think I have to cheer for them.
