  • Duke also announced that Gray was named ACC Player of the Week, which really should've been a no-brainer: "Gray missed two triple-doubles by only three rebounds as she averaged 13.0 points, 12.5 assists, 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals." That's correct: a point guard clearly playing at less than 100% nearly put up two triple doubles. Read more >>>

Her career record of 898-204 after Saturday's win at Texas moves her to just two wins away from becoming the fifth women's basketball coach to win 900 games, joining Pat Summitt, Jody Conradt, C. Vivian Stringer and Sylvia Hatchell in the exclusive club." Read more >>>

  • Totally unrelated to basketball - though it may be a hint to Albert about a new musical direction to look into - Alyssa Rosenberg of Think Progress wrote about the statement that Macklemore and Ryan Lewis recently made at the recent American Music Awards: "Due to the fact that we are in Florida tonight accepting this award I want to acknowledge Trayvon Martin and the hundreds and hundreds of kids each year that are dying due to racial profiling and the violence that follows it," Macklemore said in the duo's video acceptance speech. "This is really happening. These are our friends, our neighbors, our peers and our fans, and it's time that we look out for the youth and fight against racism and the laws that protect it." Amen.
