Games I wish I'd seen: 18 November 2013

Not much on tap for Monday night, but two interesting games.

USA TODAY Sports

There were only 24 games played by Division I teams yesterday.  There of them were against non-Division I opponents.  It doesn't leave many games to highlight, but here are two that were (probably) worth watching.

Bowling Green beat Butler 61-57 on the road
.  The win boosted the Falcons to a 4-0 record this year while Butler falls to 1-3.  BGSU hit 18 out of 22 free throws and with the rest of the game fairly well matched, their 82 percent shooting at the stripe sealed the win.  Butler's sophomore forward Haley Howard missed a layup with 12 seconds left that might have tied the game for Butler.

San Diego goes on the road and beats San Diego State 48-45.  San Diego opens the season 3-0 and the Aztecs fall to 0-3.  USD managed to turn 22 turnovers by San Diego State into 18 points.  This game had to hurt, because it was San Diego State's home opener.  The Aztecs had the ball on the last possession, but after freshman guard Ariell Bostick's jumper missed with six seconds left, junior guard Ahjalee Harvey's 3-point attempt from the right corner with one second left on the clock also missed.
