A Collection of Phoenix Mercury Links During Olympic Break

For about a couple hours last night USA Basketball's facebook page actually had Diana Taurasi gracing the cover, but after Team USA men's basketball beat Australia 119-86, you know #6 of Team USA was going to grace the cover soon after which happened as you can tell, as he had a triple double in typical fashion, scoring only 11 points, but he also dished out 12 dimes and grabbed 14 boards which is where he shows his biggest impact in my opinion.

This isn't about Diana Taurasi as #12 for Team USA though. It's about the Mercury as a whole and here are some links, both from the source, and outside, on what's been going on since the break.

Links from the Team

The break is a great time for camps. The Mercury hosted a girls basketball camp not too long ago as girls learned to hone their skills from Sammy P, Dewanna, Charde, and Co. (read here)

Krystal Thomas blogs for the team, and here is her latest entry after the break started (read here)

Photo gallery showing Mercury players in the community. May be old though. (look here)

Suns/Mercury VP Ann Meyers Drysdale is giving her thoughts on Team USA. Sorry it's a bit too Olympic-y (read here)

Outside Links

Sammy Prahalis is endorsed by American Eagle and likes playing edgy yet being stylish (from Newsday)

Aside from Olympic talk, Taurasi gives her take on the Mercury. Hate to throw more Mystics into this since the Storm links had some DC-homerism in there too, but Jennifer GIllom (also a former Mercury player) is believed to be looking for her next head coaching job at the college level, rather than as a pro... Don't know what to make of it from the nation's capital, but hey, Grandmama is a Mercury cornerstone! (from

Candice Dupree had arthroscopic knee surgery during the break if you missed it. May miss this season. (from

As if the injury bug couldn't get any worse, Charde Houston had arthroscopic knee surgery too. (from FS Arizona)

That's It

A number of links for the team here, though it's certainly not exhaustive. If you have more links, post 'em.
