Just one good night's sleep removed from the razzle and dazzle of the Opening Ceremonies (or a few hours, if you're on tape-delay in the US), the women's basketball competition gets started with gusto. Saturday features all 12 teams in action beginning at 9 a.m., London time.
Here's the Day 1 schedule (Eastern time in parentheses):
- 9 a.m. (4 a.m. ET) - China vs. Czech Republic
- 11:15 a.m. (6:15 a.m. ET) - Canada vs. Russia
- 2:30 p.m. (9:30 a.m. ET) - Turkey vs. Angola
- 4:45 p.m. (11:45 a.m. ET) - United States vs. Croatia
- 8 p.m. (3 p.m. ET) - Brazil vs. France
- 10:15 p.m. (5:15 p.m. ET) - Australia vs. Great Britain

Unlike in Olympic Games past, you can sign up to watch live online at NBCOlympics.com, where they'll be broadcasting everything live and without delay. You can find TV listings for the Olympics here, too. NBC also has a variety of mobile options, including two Olympics mobile apps for both Apple and Android devices.
Along with NBC's coverage, London 2012 has a few phone apps for you to use as well with a join in app for those in London, a results app and even a mobile game.
With much of the competition falling in innoportune time slots for many of us (or me, at least), I'm not sure how active these threads might be. But feel free to add your own links and commentary on the games either when they occur or when you wake up and catch up!
