According to a source at Tennessee, Kyra Elzy has left her position as Associate Head Coach at Kentucky and will become an assistant at her alma mater.
This is a wonderful hire for Tennessee as Elzy is recognized in basketball circles as one of the best recruiters in the country. Once Holly Warlick was promoted to Head Coach at Tennessee, her first call to action was to fill out her staff and Elzy was identified as a top priority. Throughout Elzy’s tenure at Kentucky, she helped the Wildcats bring in top-10 recruiting classes the past three years.
During her time as a player at Tennessee, Elzy accomplished great things: She won two national championships (1997, ’98) and earned the Holly Warlick Defensive Player of the Year award in 1997.
Warlick’s first hire is definitely a "home run" as Elzy will definitely have an immediate impact especially in recruiting.
