Dance Card: Creighton, Missouri Valley

Who? The Bluejays of Creighton.

What? Derived from the school colors, Billy and his team are the only Bluejays in Division I.

Where? Omaha, Nebraska, home of the College World Series. (Baseball is serious business at Creighton.)

When? March 11th, at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri.

Why? They won the Missouri Valley Conference tournament.

How? Carli Tritz had 19 points, and Creighton knocked off Drake 53-38.

Surprise? Well, the game chalked, but Creighton was the fourth seed and expected to finish fourth- their opponent was seventh-seeded Drake.

RPI (as of 3/11): 88

SOS (as of 3/11): 82

Record: 20-12 (11-7 Missouri Valley)

Good wins: North Carolina State.

Bad losses: South Dakota.

Extra, Extra! The Omaha World-Herald.

Sophomore guard Carli Tritz leads the Bluejays in scoring with 14.3 per game, but the player I'm keeping my eye on is sophomore forward Sarah Nelson, who's second in scoring (12.6) and first in rebounding with 7.8.
