Clark's Journal: On Practice, Graffiti Painting and Purchasing the Much-Needed Bikini

After being released from the San Antonio Silver Stars last year, former Middle Tennessee State forward Alysha Clark (@Alysha_Clark) is back in training camp for a second shot at making the roster. She has offered to provide us first-hand insight about her experience with a training camp journal. Today she writes about practice, community service, and swimwear.

Today was all about breaking down our offenses and executing.  We started out with our defense drills and then went into running our offenses 5 on 0.  Coach had us run one particular series 5 on 0 and then we played 5 on 5 half court running only those series.  Then we played up and back, and we of course had our shooting competitions!!

At the end of practice we had no balls left on the rack. :-( So our manager added up the total from yesterday and today and it only came out to 4 sprints we had to run!  That's pretty good for 2 days of practice!  We shot our free throws at the end and were done.  It was a pretty short day since there were no weights.

At 5 p.m. some of us chose to go help paint over graffiti with a local organization in San Antonio.  The cause was great, but it was SO hot out there!!!  Luckily with all the help that was there, we covered the whole side of a building in about 25 minutes.  I love doing work in the community! :-)

I went to dinner with Danielle Robinson, her best friend Porsha Phillips and Jayne Appel.  We ate sushi at this place called Kumori, it is delicious!  After dinner, Jayne and I had an impromptu bikini shopping trip at the Super Target ha-ha!  We were on our way to get frozen yogurt and couldn't resist stopping in!  So all and all it was a good night! :-)

We have an early practice in the morning, so I'm going to get some rest!

Until next time,

Alysha
