Alysha Clark's Training Camp Journal: San Antonio Continues Working On Mental Toughness

After being released from the San Antonio Silver Stars last year, former Middle Tennessee State forward Alysha Clark (@Alysha_Clark) is back in training camp for a second shot at making the roster. She has offered to provide us first-hand insight about her experience with a training camp journal. Today she writes about how the team spent Day 9 working on focus and mental toughness.

Day 9:

Today was all about focus and competition. Coach stated that in the huddle before we started practice.

If we weren't doing a shooting competition, then we were getting up and down the floor in a drill or game. We definitely played more games today, so we were able to establish some flow and get our lungs and legs under us.

In one of the drills the only way we could score was if we converted from our defense and scored, or if coach saw all 5 players committing to boxing out. I love these kinds of days because it builds your mental toughness.

After practice we found out that jeans are back in!! Everyone was so relieved that they didn't have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe! So thank you to Ruth Riley for helping get that done :-) Well I've procrastinated enough about packing, so I guess I better get that done since we leave so early!

Until next time,

Alysha
