Who? The Flyers of Dayton.
What? Named for the Wright Flyer, which was designed and built in Dayton.
Where? Dayton, Ohio.
When? Saturday the 19th, against Penn State in University Park.
Why? A solid season for the Flyers, where they were competitive with the strongest teams in the conference and beat most of the teams they were supposed to beat outside of it.
How? They were an at-large selection out of the A-10.
Surprise? Yes, though perhaps not as much after upsetting Temple in the conference tourney and putting up a nice showing versus Xavier.
Who's driving this thing, anyway? Jim Jabir, since 2003. Does not recommend kicking hornets' nests while naked.

Want playing time? Come to Dayton. Thirteen players get at least eight minutes a game (granted, those averages are thrown off by three overtime games). Junior forward Justine Raterman puts up the big numbers for the Flyers, with 16.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. She's a gamer. It'll be interesting to see how Dayton's system works in the tournament.
