Time to Dance: Georgia Tech

Who? The Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech.

What? I've always preferred the Ramblin' Wreck nickname, myself. If nothing else, its origins are clearer than the Yellow Jackets' and Buzz's. (No, Kim, still not that Buzz.)

Where? Gwinnett, Georgia, in the suburbs of Atlanta.

When? Saturday the 19th, versus Bowling Green in Columbus.

Why? They lost many of their out-of-conference tests, which explains how they ended up squarely in the sights of the 12-5 curse.

How? They were an at-large selection from the ACC.

Surprise? Nope.

Who's driving this thing, anyway? MaChelle Joseph, since 2003. Did you know there was an Auburn in Indiana?

RPI: 18

SOS: 16

Record: 23-10 (9-5 ACC)

Best win: North Carolina (A)

Worst loss: Old Dominion (A)

Notable results: Georgetown (L, N, 67-58), Tennessee (L, N, 66-42), Maryland (W, N, 70-64)

Never has a team been more suited to its name than the frenetic, pesky, and occasionally painful Yellow Jackets. They cause a lot of turnovers and they commit a lot of turnovers. High-scoring senior forward Alex Montgomery is the star of the show, putting up 14 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. I'd like to see them establish big Sasha Goodlett more if they can.
