Time to Dance: Temple

Who? The Owls of Temple.

What? Temple started as a night school, with the motto "The owl of the night makes the eagle of the day."  Hooter, in part or in full, is one of the most omnipresent mascots in the business.

Where? Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Insert your City of Brotherly Love jokes here.

When? Saturday the 19th, versus Arizona State in Salt Lake City.

Why? Losing to Dayton in the A-10 semifinals probably dropped the Owls about two seed lines.

How? They were an at-large selection from the Atlantic 10.

Surprise? No, not really.

Who's driving this thing, anyway? Tonya Cardoza, since 2008. A former player at Virginia, like her predecessor.

RPI: 36

SOS: 67

Record: 23-8 (13-1 A-10)

Best win: Rutgers (H)

Worst loss: Pepperdine (A)

Notable results: Ohio State (L, H, 84-75), UCLA (L, A, 71-61), Duke (L, A, 71-64)

Junior guard Shey Peddy is the player to watch for this team, averaging 14 points, over four assists, and more than three steals per game. Temple's stat page is broken, so I can't try to analyze their speed of play and scoring tendencies. Sorry, guys.
