FEVER: Fever Signs Veteran Power Forward Tangela Smith To Multi-Year Deal

Fever coach Lin Dunn cites Tangela Smith's experience, speed, quickness, length, & 3 point shooting as the assets she brings to the team, but there's one perhaps more obscure thing that she'll add to the team based on last season's performance. One of the Fever's weaknesses as a team was that they were just below an average rebounding team by percentage and their opponents pulled in a higher percentage of offensive rebounds than they did. While Smith is not among the league's top rebounders overall, she was 12th in the league in defensive rebounds per game and would be the fourth best defensive rebounder by percentage on the team based on last year's numbers. The extra defensive rebounder could help them cut down opponents' second chance opportunities as well as flipping that rebounding differential.
