We continue our historical overviews of various ACC teams. The team featured today is Clemson - the only team left in the ACC that still prefaces its mascot with the word "Lady", so the official name is not the Tigers but the Lady Tigers. More information follows.
A # is used in the Standing column to indicate seasons where the team won the conference tournament. As you can see, the Lady Tigers have won two conference tournaments, the last in 1999.
Mary King was women's basketball coach for one year. She then coached tennis at Clemson from 1976 to 1982.
Annie Tribble was named as one of the ACC's Legends of Women's Basketball in 2011.
After his retirement from Clemson, Jim Davis became an assistant AD/fundraiser, then an assistant coach with the Minnesota Lynx for two seasons, then in 2011 became an assistant coach at Young Harris College in Georgia.
Cristy McKinney is now an assistant coach at Elon.
Itoro Coleman was a former player at Clemson, better known as Itoro Umoh from 1995 through 1999. Jim Davis was her coach for all four years at Clemson.
