In not so surprising fashion, the Tennessee Lady Vols were picked by the SEC media to once again take the conference championship.
The Lady Vols enter the season ranked No. 3 in both the AP Top 25 poll and the USA Today coaches poll. Tennessee's Glory Johnson and Shekinna Stricklen were also named first team preseason All-SEC by national and league media members.
Andy Landers' Lady Dogs return four starters and were picked to finish second in the conference behind the Lady Vols. Georgia's Jasmine James led the Lady Dogs returns after leading the team in scoring, assists and steals last season. She was also named first-team preseason All-SEC by the media.
Kentucky is slotted to finish third and earns a No. 15 preseason ranking in the coaches poll and No. 18 in the AP poll. LSU is close behind and also earns a spot in both preseason polls checking in at No. 21 in the AP and No. 22 in the coaches poll.
