Toni Young named Big 12 Player of the Week (with no mention of dunk attempt)
Oklahoma State University sophomore Toni Young has been named co-Big 12 Player of the Week, alongside Texas Tech's Teena Wickett. Young had an impressive stat line against Oral Roberts - 25 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, two assists and two blocks in the win. Unmentioned in the release (and by many news outlets), was her unsuccessful dunk attempt in the game. If you trust Young, an in-game dunk is coming. "I was just super excited," Young said of showing her above-the-rim skills. "When I went up, my legs just gave out. It's ok, I'll do it again sooner or later." Will a Cowgirl dunker earn more accolades? I can't wait to find out!
