Her team had just become a part of history; but not the kind you want to be. Florida State became the answer to the trivia question, "Who did UConn beat to win their 89th game and break UCLA's all time record for consecutive wins?"
FSU is no weak team; they are Top 20 with a 9-3 record, and the Seminoles are led by a legitimate center in Cierra Bravard and strong guards in Courtney Ward and Alexa Deluzio. They will win quite a few more games this year and are destined for a trip to the NCAA tournament. For one half though, they were overwhelmed by the Maya Moore express. They actually played the 2nd half last night to within 4 of UConn.
After the game Coach Sue Semrau, who knows UConn coach Geno Auriemma very well from not just their meetings on the court in the college ranks but also from USA Basketball, was gracious in talking to the press. Semrau praised the program, Maya Moore, and commented on her former USA team players, Bria Hartley and Stefanie Dolson.
She exuded class the entire way.
