Former CEO of Women’s Sports Foundation Donna Lopiano discusses the impact of Title IX on women’s sports, and examines the ongoing nature of widespread social change. "Major social change takes about three generations -- 60 years -- to really get accepted by the population. When you think about change you go through four stages: The first stage is the majority of people being kinda angry because they don't like change. The second stage is usually termed retribution: the people in power who have to change or give up money kind of take it out on people who have to be given their fair share. The third stage gets to be positive: that's acceptance. And the fourth stage is celebration. And the society doesn't move in lock step through these changes...but the percentages change." Where do you think women's sports is as 2010 nears? (H/T http://www.bahrainsoftball.com/)
