Baylor Remains The Only Unbeaten in NCAA DI Basketball As Green Bay Suffers First Loss Of The Season

No. 9 Green Bay fell to Detroit 70-58 and snapped the Phoenix' 40-game regular-season winning streak. Green Bay trailed for the majority of the game and couldn't overcome the absence of starter Sarah Eichler (ankle). Four of the five starting Green Bay players fouled out of the game and Detroit capitalized by going 29-of-35 from the line.

Green Bay wasn't the only ranked team to fall at the hands of the unranked. Other upsets in the realm of women's basketball tonight include losses by #10 Ohio State (to Illinois, 66-65), #11 Tennessee (to #25 Vanderbilt, 93-79), #15 Nebraska (to Michigan, 63-52), #18 Gonzaga (to BYU, 70-40) and #24 South Carolina (to Arkansas, 68-47).

The Storm made its biggest news this week by re-signing Sue Bird and Tanisha Wright. The team also adds Ann Wauters to shore up the low post to hold the fort while Lauren Jackson is gone.

The Wauters signing doesn't quite go with "adding youth" which is what the Storm needs more of, but it's also safe to say that the Storm isn't done yet, and looks a lot better now than it did in January.

Apparently talks have been underway for the past eight months to lure an NBA or an NHL team to Emerald City. The Sacramento Kings are an NBA team that Seattle would like to target since there still isn't a new arena there yet. I'm not surprised this has happened to be honest.
