"That was one of the most incredible individual performances I've ever seen on this court." Tara VanDerveer on Nneka Ogwumike's 42 point, 17 rebound performance against Tennessee.
Shannon, resident Minnesota Lynx and Stanford fan, is at it again with a graphic honoring the Lynx to complement her previous tribute to Lynx point guard Lindsay Whalen. But more important is the narrative she attached to the image on her Tumblr explaining the links between Candice Wiggins, Maya Moore and Seimone Augustus from their college years. Shannon's post is also a great time to remind you that Swish Appeal won't (totally) shut down with the end of the WNBA season - there's still a whole college season coming up and we're excited about this season's coverage.
Great story about Brenda Frese, U.S. Citizen, writing letters to and eventually triggering drug companies selling items on the FDA shortage list at huge markups. Worth a read.

(as seen on Tumblr) Did you know the Swish Appeal community was this creative and marvelous? Our friend Shannon Cotterell now has the market on lock when it comes to working her skillz to represent the Lynx. All that's missing on Captain Whalen's uni is a certified #LynxHomerBadge to flash about. Do I smell photo contest??
Lizzie Cambage was reprimanded today by the WNBA for the way she wears her shorts (tucked and rolled). She went on to tweet, "The league is just keeping a respectable look. So now I'm going @LisaLeslie style and rock those short shorts :)". The Tulsa Shock rookie isn't the only one that will have to adjust her uniform, as Minnesota's Charde Houston also got scolded for rolling her shorts. The two exchanged tweets about their warnings, and Houston posted to Cambage, "oh Wow! When I saw it, I immediately thought of you. We are halfway through the season lol". The pair is definitely keeping it lighthearted, however, as they returned to another topic of conversation surrounding them both - hair. Cambage replied, "@CharHouston I know! At least they didn't tell us to grow our hair back hahaha".
The Seattle Storm visited the White House in Washington, DC today to be congratulated by President Barack Obama. They then helped host a WNBA Fit camp outside the White House basketball court. You can see more pictures here. Congratulations again to the Storm for winning the 2010 WNBA Championship.

Of course, Candace Parker wore her own shoe.
The University of Oklahoma has a super sports couple engaged to be wed. OU quarterback Landry Jones popped the question to Whitney Hand yesterday, shooting guard for Sherri Coale's Sooners. Announced on Twitter, Hand posted pictures of the ring as well. On a night when NBA rings were doled out, add Hand to the list of June 12th blinged out basketball players.
