The Minnesota Lynx win the 2014 WNBA Preseason Tournament in Florida

The Minnesota Lynx defeated the Phoenix Mercury and the Chicago Sky to win the WNBA's first preseason tournament which was held at ESPN's Wide World of Sports in Florida.

Indiana Fever defeats the Phoenix Mercury, 75-60 in the WNBA preseason consolation game

Indy's Natasha Howard led all scorers with 16 points. For Phoenix, Candace Dupree scored 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting, but Diana Taurasi and Penny Taylor did not play. Indiana did not play many of its top stars either, as Tamika Catchings, Briann January, and Shavonte Zellous were among those who didn't play.

Minnesota beats Phoenix, 72-64

Seimone Augustus and Tan White scored a a combined 28 points to lead the Minnesota Lynx to a 72-64 win over the Phoenix Mercury in the 2014 WNBA Preseason Tournament.

Diana Taurasi did not play for the Phoenix Mercury, but Brittney Griner scored 12 points, grabbed six rebounds and had two blocks for the night. Candice Dupree had 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting, and rookie Maggie Lucas scored 13 more points off the bench.

The Lynx will play the Chicago Sky at approximately 1 p.m. ET Sunday, May 11 for the tournament championship, which also happens to be Mother's Day. The Mercury will play the Indiana Fever in the consolation game at 10:30 a.m. ET Sunday.

Chicago has even attack and wins, 73-66 over Indy

The Chicago Sky didn't play its top starters for extended length of time, but they defeated the Indiana Fever, 73-66.

The Sky had a pretty even distribution of scoring throughout the entire lineup with Jamierra Faulkner scoring 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting. Karima Christmas led the Fever in scoring with 16 points in 26 minutes. Marissa Coleman, who was a bright spot for Indy up to this point had an off-night, scoring  points on 2-of-12 shooting.

The Sky will play the winner of the Lynx-Mercury game, while the Fever will play the loser.
