Dunn has been the Indiana Fever's head coach since the 2008 season, where she has achieved a 119-85 record. She was also the Head Coach and General Manager of the Seattle Storm from 2000-2002 and her total record as a WNBA head coach is 152-148. This includes two trips to the WNBA Finals in 2009 and 2012, as well as winning the WNBA championship in 2012.

Dunn has also been a head coach at the college level where she was 447-257 over 25 seasons at Austin Peay, Ole Miss, Miami, and Purdue. She led Purdue to the Final Four in 1994.

Dunn will be inducted to the Women's College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014, and the Fever's June 11 game against the Seattle Storm will be dedicated to her induction.

Though Dunn will no longer be the head coach for the Fever, she will remain as a senior basketball advisor, while Associate Head Coach Stephanie White will become the Indiana Fever's next head coach effective in the 2015 season.

This succession plan also appears to have been in the works for some time. Here is what Fever General Manager Kelly Krauskopf stated in a team press release:

Lin and I have been talking about her transition for a while now. I am happy that she will remain with us next season, as we transition the sideline leadership of this team.

Lin Dunn certainly has been one of the coaching greats in the WNBA and in women's basketball in general, and not seeing her on the sidelines for each game definitely will be missed.
