The first round of the 2014 WNBA Draft is on at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The second and third rounds will be on ESPNU starting at about 9 p.m. ET. The Draft will be at the Mohegan Sun Casino, home of the Connecticut Sun, the team that also has the first overall pick, at least as of now.
Last year, we didn't see any Draft Day deals that happened during the Draft. However this year, some teams haven't appeared to have done much to improve their rosters, whether to win now or to improve their long term futures.
For example, the Tulsa Shock hasn't seemed to have signed anyone of significance. Same can be said for the New York Liberty. Other teams that have some major needs, mostly for the future, such as the Seattle Storm and the Washington Mystics also appear to be teams that could want to do something today and they've made some moves already.
The order of where these prospects go doesn't appear to be as set in stone as some others in the past appeared to have been. Duke's Chelsea Gray and Notre Dame's Natalie Achonwa appeared to be solid locks as first round picks during the season before they were injured, but now that they are, they are likely to fall in draft position, though you can debate whether Achonwa at least will fall past the 12th spot.
And then, the 1st pick of the 2010 WNBA Draft, Tina Charles, hasn't still re-signed with the Connecticut Sun, or we haven't seen a press release on that... If she doesn't play at the Casino, then where could she be?
UPDATE AT 7:01 p.m. - She's apparently in NY now
@tinacharles31 traded to @nyliberty for 1st round pick this year and next as well as Kelsey Bone according to @AP sources
