It's Saturday, and once again, three games. LA finally gets back into action tonight, so now every team will have played at least one game over the last three days.
Two games are on NBA TV tonight, but all are on LiveAccess.
Game 1: NY Liberty (7-12) at Connecticut Sun (15-5), 7 PM ET/4 PM PT
This is a rematch of Thursday's contest, where the Libs, led by Cappie Pondester's 24 points and Plenette Pieson's 16 helped them get to a 79-66 win over the Sun. This time, both teams play at the Casino where the house celebrates its two gold medalists' success in London. If NY can beat CT tonight, then we may be talking about playoff push in the works, especially if Chicago loses to Washington on the road tomorrow.
If you're in Connecticut, turn on CPTV to watch the game.
Game 2: Atlanta Dream (10-10) at Indiana Fever (11-7), 7 PM ET/4 PM PT
Nate mentioned in a comment on yesterday's open thread that there didn't seem to be enough Olympic fireworks in the games after the Olympics themselves. Well, tonight should be a game that will feature Olympian vs. Olympian as Tamika and her crew plays against the New and Improved Angel, Erika, and their squad. This could be a potential Eastern Conference playoff or even Conference Finals match so it should be a great one to watch.
Game is on NBA TV, but it is also in local markets and therefore subject to blackouts on NBA TV. If you're in Indianapolis, turn on Fox Sports Indiana, and if you're in ATL, turn on SSO-ATL.
This is the game of the night.
Game 3: LA Sparks (15-6) at Seattle Storm (10-10), 10 PM ET/7 PM PT
Tonight is Lauren Jackson bobblehead night and the first 4,000 fans will get a bobblehead of her with an Australian flag draped around her, like the corresponding Sue Bird bobblehead with Sue having an American flag draped around her. If you expected LJ to come out with a 20 point 20 rebound night, sorry, she is still in Australia for national team duties.
This is the last regular season matchup between these rivals, with LA winning every single game so far. If Seattle wants any realistic chance to win this game on paper, Sue Bird must be back, where she not only has to get over jet lag, but also her stomach flu. I'd say that Bird will not play tonight just to keep her rested, but I've been pretty bad at predicting things before, so you are free to laugh at me when she plays and then scores 40 points grabs 8 rebounds and dishes 12 dimes against the Sparks in a victory.
So that's it.
Enjoy the games tonight, feel free to meme things at quickmeme.com, and don't get the stomach flu from eating too many red velvet cupcakes.
