Okay, Team USA won its fifth straight gold in women's basketball today against France, which I'm happy about. But here are some links on what Nneka, Kristi, Alana, and Co. have been doing in the meantime.
Links from the team:
Spark players were celeb waitress at Jillian's in Universal City Walk for a charity. (read and watch here)
Sharnee Zoll blogs for the team as she gives some notes on rehab from her ACL injury earlier this season, and she gives her take on the Olympics too (read here)
Nneka Ogwumike was interviewed during break while she catching games at NBA Summer League in Vegas. (watch here)
Outside the team links
Nneka fits right in and was "even better than we though we were getting", according to GM Penny Toller. (from ESPN)
Kristi Toliver chatted with fans on ESPN. (read here)
Here is a link from UMD's website chronicling the Terps' first ever win over Duke on March 4, 2006 in the ACC tournament. They also would go on to win the whole thing that year over Duke as well. Current Sparks Marissa Coleman and the aforementioned Toliver were part of that squad (read here)
Some pics on the Sparks hosting free clinics to boys and girls teaching them the fundamentals of the game, led by Coach Ross (from wavenewspapers.com)
So that's it.
If you have more links, go ahead and post 'em up.
